History is rarely found in the centre of the room; it lives in the margins, the transitions, and the silences left by those before us. As a historian and multi-disciplinary artist, my work is dedicated to excavating these "hidden" narratives, from the complex queer legacy of Anne Lister to the essential, often-ignored history of disability in our cultural institutions.
Through my current project, "Alone in York", I use photography to explore how neurodiversity transforms the city into a series of liminal spaces, using the literal quiet of an empty street to map the metaphysical experience of navigating a world not built for you. Whether I am researching in the archives, volunteering in a museum, or creating, my mission is to challenge the "just good friends" narrative and ensure that marginalised views stay visible.
